Boot Düsseldorf commences this month to host a plethora of powerboat premieres. At the largest indoor boat show in the world, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed by the sheer volume of stands to see; so we have selected our top ten debut motorboats that are unmissable at this year’s show:

Fairline Targa 45GT

The new 45GT offers flexibility and a configurable cockpit with new features including a glass sliding roof and cockpit doors. Superyacht designer Alberto Mancini has worked on the 45 GT to produce that luxury flair throughout with the options of either two or three cabins and the choice of mid or forward master cabin layouts. Fitted with IPS twin 600 or 650 engines, the performance of this sports cruiser should be more than gutsy enough to reach up to 30 knots with ease. Fairline will also have the new Squadron 50 on display alongside a top-secret model to unveil.

Inspired by their classic designs of the 60s and 70s, the Shamal is making her big reveal this year. Powered with twin 440hp Volvo Penta D6 engines and with the sleek lines and the expected build-quality of any Windy; we’re certain this will be a big favourite within its class of sports cruisers over 30ft.

A fusion of efficient Scandinavian design and German engineering prowess is delivered in the form of the Axopar Brabus Shadow 900. Created by Brabus and the hugely successful Finnish manufacturers Axopar, their latest launch pulls the covers off the all-new shadow 900 range, which as the name suggests comes with even more throttling power for 2020.
Both the Sun-Top and Spyder options can reach speeds of over 60 knots with twin 450R XL Verados offering 40% more torque than the previous 400hp outboards. The handling and effortless performance of the previous Shadow 800 had been held in high regard but with further optimisations to the already capable hull along with finger-tip control steering, has ensured a far superior level of drivability, visibility and fuel economy. These hand-finished super bow riders also come with up to a third more of the space in the front cabin with Gullwing doors and an optional enclosed heads compartment.

Sunseeker Manhattan 68

The world premiere of the all-new Manhattan 68 had to have a mention. This new addition to the Manhattan line is set to attract the crowds this year with a promised feel of a far larger yacht of its size, which Sunseeker succeed so well in with their flybridge models. Designed for extended cruising in mind and larger than the 66, more powerful options include twin IPS 1350s or either 1000 or 1200 Twin MAN V8 engines. Owners will also have access to new ambient lighting and entertainment options with a layout that seamlessly flows between levels.
The expansive entertaining areas and attention to detail seem a real focus throughout this yacht. The hydraulic swim platform is large enough to launch a jet tender from, sporting a luxurious folding transom locker that comes equipped with a rainfall shower, lights and speakers with ample storage accompanied by a water-level charging dock compartment for your Seabobs.

Bavaria kicks off their brand new line by combining a fusion of both the Sport and R lines with the SR41. The generous bathing platform trend has been adopted, with a well-thought-out two-cabin interior plan. This added space allows for a large owners cabin with its own bathroom and shower, so guests can have their very own bathroom from their bow cabin. The SR line looks set to be a winning formula for the German manufacturers with the classic options, including a hardtop, soft-top and fully open version.

This new model has been designed in collaboration between Naval architect Bill Dixon with Kelly Hoppen’s golden touch. This yacht looks to have an exceptional layout and manages to fit four double guest cabins alongside a crew cabin or jetski garage. Unlike the Pearl 60, this has a full beam mid-ship master cabin with its own separate entrance from the saloon. The guest cabins are then situated forward with two halves by the steps and a double berth at the bow. The steeped flybridge area looks a functional and versatile space to entertain with a large glass sunroof. As above so below, with a sleek saloon that flows into the aft deck and bathing platform with all the trimmings to be expected from a cutting-edge yacht of its size.

The game-changer for Williams is the Evojet 70, their biggest ever boat at just under 23ft. Aimed at the superyacht market as a semi-customisable tender, this boat has a larger capacity for passengers and fuel than ever before. The sleek carbon fibre T-Top cover ensures it certainly looks the part. This could be the beginning of something new for Williams and possibly not limited to just the superyacht tender market, for the few that can afford to spend that amount on a dayboat that is.

Before the full launch this spring, you can ‘experience the exceptional’ with a full-size mock-up of the X95 main deck at the Princess stall this year. All decks on the X95 have a few layout options to suit the owner but the most notable are seen from the main galley configurations. These can either have a mid-based galley with a forward master cabin/ lounge area or have the galley forward with a large open space and island. There has clearly been an awful amount of careful consideration to make this ‘Luxury SUV of the sea’ the flagship of the innovative X class, providing their owners with functionality and flexibility with masses of space. Princess will also be presenting the Y78, S66, 62, V55 and F50 at Hall 6 at this year’s show.

Nimbus debut their latest T8, the perfect walk-around package that despite being the smallest of their Tender line yet at eight metres, still has overnight space for two. A very smart-looking boat with swivel driver and co-pilot seats and folding bench to sunbed make this a very functional option as a leisure boat for all activities. The engine options range from 200-300hp from the V6 Verado to the V8 reaching above 40 knots and the sea-worthiness of a Nimbus ensure the ride and protection onboard to be world-class. All of this for a very reasonable circa £80,000.

Solaris Power Yachts will be unveiling the Lobster 48 Flybridge, with the unmistakeable concept-like lines it certainly looks very pleasing to the eye but offers more than just beauty. The boat has stylish concaved side decks that allow a protected, full walk-around without guard rails and a carefully developed hull designed specifically for IPS, of which, twin 600 or 650s are available. Norberto Ferretti holds the Lobster very dear to him amongst all of his projects and says the focuses have been set towards seaworthiness in comfort, reduced vibrations and emissions with functionality inside and stability from the innovative hull design. A must-see at this year’s show.

The smallest Galeon to be fitted with the beach club folding sidewalls, allowing for a 180° open plan aft deck that’s perfect for socialising at the water’s edge. Protected stairs lead up to the flybridge that hosts a minibar, comfortable helm station and sofa and table that converts into a double sunbed, keeping with the ‘beach mode’ functionality. Below deck, Galeon have managed to fit two full-sized cabins that should allow for full standing height with separate bathrooms. IPS 600/650 options are available promising top-class manoeuvrability and power for comfortable cruising.
