The SIBS alternative event starts this weekend from Friday 11th to the 20th of September with plenty to see and buy. Tickets for Boats2020 are on sale and here are just some of what will be exhibited over the course of the show.
Berthon International
Berthon will be representing Pearl Yachts and Windy, both of which have their UK debuts of the Pearl 62 and the Windy 37 Shamal. Both boats were extremely popular at Dusseldorf earlier this year and it should be no different at Southampton this month.
Looking forward to a boat show close to home, Iain Smallridge, Pearl Yachts’ Managing Director states: “As a British shipbuilder, we’re proud to help showcase boating locally. This year’s edition of BOATS2020 is particularly special, marking the first time that we have been able to come together as a community in a long time. Despite the challenges presented over the past few months, the Pearl Yachts team has continued to work hard, with a successful summer season and four new Pearl yachts currently under construction. With comprehensive health and safety measures in place at this year’s show, we are excited to bring our latest model, the Pearl 62, to Southampton and look forward to connecting with clients, industry peers and yachting enthusiasts once again.”
The £2million flybridge packs an awful lot into 60ft worth of intuitive yacht design.
The retro 37 is easily one of the best looking boats to make a debut. Formed in collaboration with renowned superyacht designer Espen Øino, the 37 was inspired by Windy boats of the sixties and seventies. The Shamal boasts two double berths, a full size heads, spacious and safe cockpit with 40 knot pushing speeds.
Pearl Yachts can be found on mooring M002 / A016 & Windy Boats at M004 / M006
Fairline Yachts
Miles Moorhouse, Head of Marketing at Fairline Yachts, said; “I’m delighted that Fairline Yachts are part of the line-up with 4 boats at BOATS2020. The whole team at Fairline can’t wait to show visitors, buyers and enthusiasts our latest model debuts.”
The two debut boats will be the multi-award winning F-Line 33 alongside the largest model in the brands current portfolio, the Squadron 68. The Squadron 50 and the Targa 45 Open will make the rest of the world-beating line up.
The Targa 45 Open, powerful and versatile with the enormous sliding roof and elegant design of Alberto Mancini.
Fairline Yachts will be found at A018 and berths M125 - M131.
Sealine Yachts
Sealine will have the F430 and the C330 at BOATS2020 showcasing the true essence of Sealine in both these highly acclaimed models.
Chris Manners of TBS Boats, the UK distributor for Sealine, said; “With most of this year being written off due to COVID-19 and most European shows cancelled in its wake, we are really excited to be at BOATS2020 with these two great Sealine models. The show has been impeccably organised by British Marine in these challenging times. We are looking forward to welcoming visitors to the Sealine stand.”
The F430 is a much-loved boat to come out since the Hanse take over, perfect family cruiser, that's quiet and sits at an accommodating point between the 330 and F530.
If you have been interested in either of these all weather family boats or other models within the Sealine range, contact tbsboats here and you can find the Sealine berths at M202 / M204.
Bavaria Yachts
Showcased by Clipper Marine, The Bavaria C57, SR41 and the Bavaria Vision 42 will be moored for viewings on berths M212-218.
The biggest news is from Bavaria's new premiere of the C38. 'Perfect sailing characteristics, simple handling, maximum usage of the interior below decks and the highest level of comfort – what might once have been a contradiction in the field of yacht design, the new C38 proves to be possible without compromises.' Just as with the larger Bavaria C42, the Bavaria V-shaped bow and distinctive chines at the stern are two crucial design elements of the new Bavaria C38.
“Chines increase stability while sailing at a heeling angle of between 15 and 20 degrees. When designing the bottom of the hull, the dynamic effect of the chines can also be used to provide faster water drainage from the hull. Modern sailboats often have a very wide stern and therefore a lot of volume in the rear of the hull. When the sailboat gets more wind and the heel increases, the hull gets out of balance. The stern comes further out of the water and the bow is pushed further into the water. As a result the pressure on the rudder increases. A V-Bow with more volume compensates this effect and the boat is easier to steer.” explains Maurizio Cossutti, the yacht designer responsible alongside his team for the hull shape.

Princess Yachts
Visitors can look forward to a large and impressive array of models from Princess Yachts in September. Eight boats will be making their way to Mayflower Park, including the Princess Y85. The rest of the boats at the show include, the F70, F62, F55, F50, V60 V50 Open and the R35.
The carbon fibre V8 foiling R35. Should certainly prove to be a head-turner at the show and create a lot of interest in how it performs on the water after the reported 50 knot top speeds.
Visitors to the show will be able to book private appointments on all Princess boats, creating a day of quality viewing. Princess will be located at A025 and berths M023-M215.
Sunseeker Yachts
Sunseeker will be displaying the largest yacht at the show, the 95 yacht measuring an impressive 28.06m (92ft 1in) in length and 6.55m (21ft 6in) in beam. Showing off a streamlined yet spacious elegance, the 95 Yacht combines a superyacht feel with many practical advantages, making it one not to be missed at BOATS2020. Find them at A015 and berths M101-M124.
Sunseeker are proud to release details of an exciting new model, the Manhattan 68. Building on the exceptional family of award-winning Manhattan models, this new addition to the range has been designed to offer exceptional levels of comfort and luxury with incredible detailing.
Visitors to BOATS2020 will be able to step onboard to see an expansive cockpit, main saloon area with sumptuous lounge seating and a fully equipped aft galley. The innovative design that has gone into the layout of the main deck makes this the perfect boat for welcoming guests. The flybridge has been designed with an integrated hard-top option in mind and features large forward sunbathing areas and a second helm. A sociable layout continues through to the wide bathing platform which features Sunseeker’s innovative ‘Beach Club’ to bring guests closer to the water. The substantial bathing platform is suitable for launching a Williams Sportjet 395.
“Sunseeker are delighted to confirm our participation at this year’s BOATS2020 event in September with six boats from 50 – 95ft in our on-water display as well as a luxurious land based hospitality suite. We will be working closely with British Marine to provide a safe, controlled environment in which all visitors can enjoy the experience and in doing so, make BOATS2020 a real success. Whilst the show format may be different, the warmth of our welcome will remain, and we look forward to meeting as many guests as possible!”- Sean Robertson, sales director at Sunseeker International.
