It’s that time of year again: the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022 started on 6 September. This glittering fixture of Europe’s in-water event calendar is a chance to admire some of the most prestigious boats ever made. Boats and Outboards and the Boats Group family will be there with our own dedicated stand at the Jetée Nord in the Vieux Port, JETEE 146. Our team are looking forward to talking all things boats and boating with you over a coffee, lunch, or an aperitif.
Boat show extraordinaire
The annual Cannes Yachting Festival hosts an eclectic mix of boats and is an ideal place to meet the biggest players in the boating industry and discover their latest innovations while basking in the beauty of the sun-drenched Côte d’Azur. Our team of digital experts will be on hand representing our network of portals, including YachtWorld, Boats And Outboards and boats.com. If you’re a dealer, broker or manufacturer, book a digital review with the account team to discuss your digital needs and get a better understanding of how our portals can work for you and your business.
Discover the latest multihull market trends
Pick up your free copy of the Multihull Market Research Report at our stand. Using YachtWorld data, the study analyses trends in boats advertised, search behaviour and boats sold over the past year. The report also includes highlights from the American boat market. Key findings include an increase from 10% to 18% in the number of boat shoppers looking for new boats, shoppers looking for higher-value multihulls with the most searched price category being between €250K and €500K, and multihull sailboats now being sold 1.5 times faster than two years ago. The report is sponsored by le Pôle Nautisme (Nautical Center) of Port-Saint-Louis Provence, the capital of multihulls in the Mediterranean. Multihull berths available; contact the Nautical Centre via their website nautismed.fr or by email at contact@nautismed.fr.
Trends in the motor yachts market
We also have free copies of the July Motor Yachts Market Research Report available which looks at trends over the past two quarters based on data from the different Boats Group portals and the SoldBoats.com database. The report contains a dedicated section on search and buyer behaviour across three different size classes. Among the report’s findings are that, overall, shoppers are looking for smaller yet more expensive boats than they were three years ago, searches for new boats have increased by 45% since before the COVID-19 pandemic and a motor yacht is sold 1.4 times faster today than three years ago.
Looking for sustainable luxury – the changing face of boat buyers
Our recent research shows both a startling increase in the number of Gen Z shoppers aged 18-24 visiting the boat marketplace and growth in the number of women showing interest in buying a boat. And this new audience has a new outlook: they want to shop sustainably. They want to feel good about their luxury consumption so they’re willing to pay a premium for products with a lower environmental impact. Discover the key insights into this new-generation market and read our full report on making way for a younger, more sustainably conscious boat buyer. Our push for a more sustainable boating future is sponsored by Suzuki Clean Ocean Project, Natural Yachts en Yacht Match Propulsion Consultancy.
