A clean, well maintained boat is important, but don’t put yourself at risk. Anybody working on their boat during the winter months should always let someone know they are working on their boat.
For safety it’s important to always wear some sort of florescent clothing with a life jacket and non-slip shoes.
If your boat is remaining in the water during the winter months then it is important to have your ropes tied up and secured properly.
During sharp frosts, do not wash your fabric covers, as the fabric will freeze and split……wait until March to do this.
Remember that in the long-run, caring for your boat in this way will help maintain its value, and diminish depreciation.
Gary Winter of www.clean2gleam.com will be sharing monthly boat care tips with us.
